A B O U T
Set inside a tiny boat which rowed through its audience, All At Sea was the first in our two-part meditation on death (All At Sea / Vessel 2016). Prior to the show, the actor would spend time talking with local people about what gives life meaning for them. These recorded conversations would then be mixed into the soundscape for that days show, so the audience would hear their voices reflected back at them as they watched. Our exploration of what gives meaning to life, All At Sea combined bittersweet theatre and melancholic humor in a moving and intimate performance. |

All at Sea toured nationally and internationally from 2016 until the end of 2019, when it was paused by the pandemic. Its return tour (2022) was cancelled 5 days prior to starting due to the technical manager being in a car accident. We used the remainder of the rehearsals to create this short film: The Wake.
“As beautiful a description of the human condition as I have been privileged to witness. Never to be forgotten.”
