"She has a compelling physicality on stage, not only emotionally articulate and honest but also highly original"

Jeni Barnard is a visual and physical artist, with both training and professional experience in: fine art, photography, design, acting, circus, and physical theatre.
Lured away from creating solely with her hands by the immediacy and versatility of theatre, she began her performance career at Circomedia, later completing the BA(Hons) in Circus Arts at London’s Circus Space. On graduating, she was fortunate to receive a professional support grant from The Circus Space and the Leverhulme Trust.
Her work with Acrojou involves a wide variety of media, including: performance designs and storyboarding; sculpture, prop, and animation creation; performance equipment design; and physical performance and choreography.
Current projects outside of Acrojou Circus Theatre include: an ongoing collaboration with John Paul Zaccarini and Barney White, looking at psychoanalysis through circus and film; and performing as a solo acrobat in Stumble Dance Circus, directed by Mish Weaver.
